The latest index of Global Destination Cities by MasterCard shows that Bangkok tops other cities in Asia/Pacific in terms of tourist traffic and visitor spending during 2011. Bangkok beats other cities in the region such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Seoul. Additionally, MasterCard forecasts Bangkok to be the third most popular city in the world with an estimated 11.5 million visitors and the fourth most popular city with an expenditure of $14.4 Billion.
