High cost of Myanmar’s isolation

Although its military government has said it will hold elections later this year, decades of isolation have left Myanmar one of the most under-developed nations in the world. Noeleen Heyzer, the UN undersecretary-general, who has led an unprecedented dialogue with Myanmar’s leaders about how to move the country forward, talks to Al Jazeera’s Veronica Pedrosa.
